Persevering through no’s, delays, and detours
Kwame had pitched his eco-friendly packaging idea to ten potential investors. Every single one said no.
Then his main supplier ran out of materials. Then customs delayed a shipment for weeks.
He was exhausted and secretly, angry at God.
“I’m doing everything right,” he thought. “Why is it still this hard?”
Entrepreneurship will test your endurance like few other things. With legal setbacks, supplier issues, and rejected proposals, it’s easy to start believing the resistance means you’re unqualified.
But in God’s economy, “no” often means “not yet.”
Faith doesn’t deny difficulty. It redefines it. Every delay can be preparation for what’s coming. Persistence is not powered by adrenaline. It’s fuelled by conviction that God finishes what He starts.
When we root our perseverance in identity - I am called, chosen, and sustained by God, we stop taking rejection personally. We start taking purpose seriously.
Scripture:
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9
Reflection Question:
Where do you need to shift from striving to trusting that God is still working in the waiting?
